Born in 1985, São Paulo native Daniel Novais began his artistic career in graffiti collectives in the North Zone of São Paulo in the late 90s. Experimentation with visual languages led him to tattoo studios. and with tattooing, he worked as a guest artist in studios in Germany, Australia, England, Denmark, Switzerland, France and Argentina finally settling in Rio de Janeiro where he has maintained his own studio since 2007.
Painting canvases have always been a passion parallel to his work as a tattoo artist, and represents a new phase in Daniel's artistic career, with canvases that translate rhythms, sensations, movements and emotions. His work encompasses a creative process that is purposefully explicit: in art, the journey creates traits that cannot be renounced.
